I started teaching English 41 years ago in Salamanca, Spain. After going in a different direction professionally, I returned to my first love of tutoring English about 13 years ago while living in Venezuela. I have been working full-time on a popular language platform for over 11 years, with 1,122 students and 9,556 classes. As of June 8, 2026, I am ranked #4 most popular out of 472 Engish tutors on that platform. In addition I have been employed on another popular language platform for more than a year. I have a 5.0 star average with 4329 ratings in 11 years. My level of Spanish is advanced, C1 or C2; my French is low intermediate. My students have ranged from ages 5 to 84. My specialties include: job interview preparation, TOEFL, and IELTS preparation, business English and general conversation practice and correction. My number 1 focus is working with Spanish speakers, since I can give a quick explanation in that language if needed. [I have a special fondness for working with Venezuelans and Colombians since my Colombia-born wife grew up in Venezuela and we lived in Venezuela from 2011-2019.]

Arthur è un bravo insegnante, molto paziente e che non ti fa mai sentire a disagio quando parli male in Inglese come me anzi si sforza di capirti , e nello stesso tempo ti corregge la pronuncia . Escribo este comentario en español por ser mi primera clase con Arthur y porque aún no me siento del todo segura para dejar un comentario en inglés, pero quería escribir igualmente: hoy ha sido mi primera clase con Arthur y me ha gustado mucho. Arthur es paciente, amable y cercano y la verdad es que ha conseguido que me sienta muy tranquila y a gusto durante toda la clase. Hoy ha sido una clase solo de hablar, pero hemos tratado diferentes temas para conocernos un poquito y me ha dado recomendaciones para seguir trabajando. Me ha gustado también que tenga interés en conocer cómo me gustarían las clases y en qué quiero centrarme. La verdad es que tengo muchas ganas de la siguiente clase :)
